Ingredients
  1. 3 lbs white cabbage (see notes below)
  2. 1 green pepper
  3. 1 white onion
  4. 1 carrot
Dressing
  1. 1 C salad oil
  2. 1 C sugar
  3. 1 C cider vinegar
  4. 2 tsp celery seed
Instructions
  1. Chop/shred and combine cabbage, green pepper, onion and carrot.
  2. Mix & bring to hard boil oil, sugar, cider vinegar, and celery seed.
  3. Pour dressing over cabbage mix and stir well.
  4. Store in fridge in air-tight container.
  5. Let stand 2 days.
  6. Flavor improves with age; will keep for 1 month.
Notes
  1. Vary use of purple or Savoy cabbage and apples.
  2. Any vinegar will do; any onion will do. I use the 2mm slicing disk for my Cuisinart
  3. on cabbage and green pepper; the medium shredder on onion. Use the largest bowl you’ve
  4. got to mix. Within a minute of pouring the hot juice on the cabbage, the volume shrinks
  5. drastically. I use a 1-gallon glass jar for storage.
